VALORANT 22nd Agent "Gekko": Abilities, Release Date, & More

Riot Games has teased the 22nd Agent in VALORANT. According to Riot Games, the Agent will be an Initiator with the name “Gekko.”

After League of Legends’ massive success in the MOBA genre, Riot Games decided to enter the FPS market with the launch of VALORANT. Soon after its release, VALORANT instantly became popular for its unique novelty in the game.

Riot Games is well known for its marketing tactics for promoting its game to the mass audience. The company puts tremendous effort into building its games’ contents so that the players get to play the games and experience the story and its characters simultaneously.

Riot Games released its 21st Agent Harbor, AKA Mage, in Episode 5 Act 3, an Agent from India with water-controlling abilities. Not much time has passed, and Riot Games has already started teasing the upcoming Agent who will debut in the VALORANT universe shortly.

VALORANT 22nd Agent “Gekko” First Look and Abilities

In the recent “State of the Agents” video by Riot Games, the character producer for VALORANT, John Goscicki, talked about various topics, such as the future plan and balance of the game. Moreover, the developer shed light on the upcoming Agent in VALORANT.

Gekko Abilities:

• Gekko Ability: Mosh Pit:FIRE to throw Mosh like a grenade or ALT Fire to throw underhand. After landing, Mosh Duplicates across an area and explodes after a short delay.
• Gekko Ability: Wingman (Q): FIRE to send Wingman forward looking for enemies. If an enemy is found, Wingman fires a concussive blast in a triangular shape at the first enemy seen. ALT FIRE when looking at Site or Planted Spike to Plant (You must have the spike) or Defuse the Spike. Wingman can be destroyed by other players while planting or defusing the spike. When Wingman Expires, he turns into a glob that can be picked up to be used again after a short cooldown.
• Gekko Ability: Dizzy (E): FIRE to send Dizzy forward into the air. Dizzy charges up and sends out beams at enemies in their line of sight. When enemies are hit, they are blinded. When Dizzy Expires, they turn into a glob that can be picked up to be used again after a short cooldown.
• Gekko Ultimate: Thrash (X): FIRE to control & link with Thrash to steer her. FIRE while in the Ultimate to lunge forward and explode, detaining any enemies within their radius. When Thrash Expires, she turns into a glob that can be picked up to be used again after a short cooldown. Thrash can only be reclaimed ONCE.

Gekko Release Date

John Goscicki confirmed that the 22nd Agent “Gekko” will join the fight “soon.” As Episode 6 Act 1 is currently running, it seems very likely that the new Agent will be released as soon as Episode 6 Act 2 goes live on March 7, 2023.
