Trump wanted to buy Glock handgun with his face on it at campaign stop, viral video shows

SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (TND) — Former President Donald Trump saidMonday he wanted to purchase a Glock handgun with his face on it, according to a video posted by a Trump campaign spokesperson.

In the now-deleted video shared to X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, Trump appears to inspect a gun. He repeatedly states “I want to buy one.”

In the same video, Trump is seen posing for a photo with a man brandishing a handgun, giving a thumbs up and smiling as reporters film in the background. In another photo, heholds a gun that appears to have his face on it.

The interactions took place while Trump visited a gun store in Summerville, S.C. during a campaign stop. Some have claimed on social media that Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., was at the store as well, though she does not appear in any pictures or video from the event.

Social media commenters poked fun at the video, joking that Trump would use the gun against his political opposition.

“President Trump is gonna spin the block on his opps. Love to see it!” one said.

Others questioned whether or not Trump was subject to a background check during the supposed purchase, given that much of his life is public.

“It takes 24 hours to get results back on a background check, but he walks in to buy a Glock and walk out,” another said.

Due to being indicted on multiple felony charges, it is speculated that Trump would be unable to legally purchase a firearm. However, recent Supreme Court rulings on the matter would suggest such a rule could be inconsistent with the Constitution, NBC News reported.
