Ridge to Rivers reports ideal trail conditions, possible high-elevation mud
BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — According to a Ridge to Rivers trail report, trail conditions seem ideal. There is enough moisture to pack down all the loose sand and produce firm trails without being overly saturated and muddy.
Temperatures are forecast to be above 50 degrees and potentially back into the 60s through the weekend.
While trail conditions are only slightly tacky at worst and very good overall, it is possible that with the overnight freezes, some moisture and possibly muddy conditions could still be lingering, potentially at higher elevations.
Ridge to Rivers left some higher elevation trails on the interactive map as yellow or potentially muddy enough to turn around. Be aware that trail and weather conditions in the upper elevations may differ from those in the lower foothills.
