Nate Diaz and Jake Paul fought each other in a boxing bout in August. After ten rounds, Paul emerged as the winner via unanimous decision. Going into the fight, there was a lot of trash-talking by both fighters, which helped create the hype. 

The Diaz vs. Paul boxing match indeed proved to be a lucrative venture. It drew a massive audience due to the considerable fan bases of both fighters. There was considerable speculation and anticipation regarding the possibility of Diaz and Paul facing off inside the octagon. 

However, as time has passed, it appears that any such matchup in the world of mixed martial arts may be postponed or perhaps not happen at all in the foreseeable future. The notion of these two combatants transitioning from the boxing ring to the octagon generated considerable buzz and debate among fight fans. However, as of now, it remains uncertain whether this transition will come to fruition.

Recently, Jake Paul mentioned in a tweet that Diaz’s fight check in the boxing bout was more than his biggest UFC salary, including his fights with Conor McGregor, and that’s the reason the veteran wants a rematch.

"Nate Diaz made more in one boxing match than he did fighting Conor Mcgregor twice in MMA. No wonder that boy begging for a boxing rematch. Friday December 15th I’m back."

While it is accurate that Diaz has been active on Twitter expressing his desire for a rematch with Paul, Paul’s portrayal of the situation seemed to be a taunting gesture, suggesting that Diaz is desperate for the paycheck. 

How much did Nate Diaz make fighting Conor McGregor twice?

Conor McGregor vs. Nate Diaz is one of the biggest rivalries in the history of the UFC and was able to generate a huge buzz from fight fans. As the first fighter to end McGregor’s unstoppable run, Diaz amassed an incredible $2.7 million from the two exciting bouts. In the first bout at UFC 196, where Diaz shocked the world by submitting McGregor, he took home a total of $620,000, comprising a $50,000 Fight of the Night bonus, a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus, and a $20,000 Reebok payment.

In the second bout, the anticipation and excitement were significantly higher, leading to a substantial increase in Diaz’s fight earnings. Due to their legendary rivalry in the mixed martial arts community, Diaz’s bout earnings for UFC 202 were greatly boosted. On top of receiving a $50,000 Fight of the Night bonus and a $20,000 Reebok sponsorship, he was guaranteed a fight purse of $2 million, resulting in a total value of $2,070,000.
