If there were still any speculations regarding the possibility of Rob Gronkowski unretiring and returning to play for another year on the NFL field, his latest statement makes it crystal clear that it is not going to be happening. The legendary tight end and future Hall of Famer, Gronk is no longer interested in football as a career, after 11 great and fruitful years in the league, he appears to be content with all that he has achieved throughout and is now focusing on the road ahead.
Rob Gronkowski via TMZ Sports stated that “There’s no chance anymore.” The tight end is no longer considering a return to the NFL as he had previously been indicating via subtle hints to fans. His decision does not come as that big of a surprise. Following the retirement of Tom Brady, fans knew that this pretty much meant that in all likelihood, Rob Gronkowski will also no longer be returning to the NFL.
Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski were like Batman and Robin, after all. Every Super Bowl that the tight end won was with TB12 and it would be odd to watch Rob play on a team where the QB was not number 12. It has been a heck of a run for Rob Gronkowski who ends his career with 621 catches for 9,286 yards, and 92 touchdowns. He will go down as one of the most fierce players who has showed up for his team in clutch moments.

Rob Gronkowski is now passionate about pickle ball
Rob Gronkowski’s parents are Gordon Gronkowski and Diane Walters and he may be done with football, but that does not mean he is done with sports. The tight end who is enjoying his retirement had this to say about his newly founded passion for a sport that none of the fans would have been able to guess! “I’m happily retired. I actually picked up pickleball. I beat my brother, Chris, who plays with pros, and my other brother, Gordon, who plays with pros, too. And I beat them with an average Joe- my other brother, Glenn G., was my partner.”
Pickleball is the new passion for all the Gronk brothers! Will Rob decide to go pro with the sport? It does appear to be a possibility that one cannot deny upfront. It will be fascinating to see how far along he can go with the new sport. Pickleball has become the fastest-growing sport in the country.
Athletes such as Drew Brees, Kevin Durant, and LeBron James have all made investments in their own professional pickleball teams. Tom Brady is also the proud owner of a Major League Pickleball team, which he acquired along with four-time tennis champion Kim Clijsters as part of a group led by Knighthead Capital Management in 2022. Imagine if Rob Gronkowski ends up going pro and playing for Tom Brady’s pickleball team, that would be the perfect scenario!
